NEW YORK — September 23, 2026 — This week, I will be participating in AI and Human Development at the Goals Lounge, United Nations Headquarters in New York, during the week of the United Nations General Assembly.
Artificial Intelligence is advancing at an extraordinary speed. It is already transforming the way we work, communicate, design, learn and solve problems. But the most important conversation is not simply about what AI will be capable of doing next.
The real question is what we, as humans, decide to do with it.
Technology has always been a tool. Its impact ultimately depends on the priorities we establish around it and on whether innovation reaches the people and communities that need it most.
For me, this conversation is particularly relevant to the work we do through CMAX Foundation. In humanitarian response, disaster preparedness and resilience, AI has the potential to help us anticipate risks, process information faster, improve coordination, identify vulnerable communities and support better decisions before and during emergencies.
But technology alone does not create resilience.
Human judgment, empathy, collaboration and the ability to turn information into action remain fundamental. The challenge ahead is therefore not to choose between technological progress and human development, but to make sure they advance together.
The meeting will bring together perspectives around how Artificial Intelligence can contribute to a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable future.
As we enter this new technological era, I believe one principle should remain clear:
Innovation has its greatest value when it improves human life.
That is the conversation I look forward to continuing at the United Nations this week.
