About Nico

We wish to bring many good things to life.

Nicolás García Mayor is an Argentine-American entrepreneur, industrial designer, and humanitarian innovator whose work focuses on disaster resilience, social impact, and the development of solutions that protect human life.

Since 2000, he has designed and implemented innovative projects across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. His work has supported communities affected by natural disasters, armed conflicts, displacement, and humanitarian emergencies in countries including Argentina, Haiti, Mexico, Ukraine, Poland, Japan, the United States, China, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.

He is the founder and CEO of Cmax System Inc., a Washington, D.C.–based Public Benefit Corporation that develops rapid-deployment habitat technologies for emergency response and humanitarian operations. He also founded the Cmax Foundation, an organization with Special Consultative Status granted by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

García Mayor presented Cmax System at the United Nations headquarters in New York and was later invited to Vatican City, where Pope Francis recognized and blessed the project’s humanitarian mission. In 2014, Junior Chamber International named him one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (JCI TOYP) for his contributions to children, world peace, and human rights.

The Government of Argentina appointed him an Ambassador of Marca País Argentina, while the Argentine Senate recognized him for his leadership and contribution to Latin American development. In 2016, the United States granted him permanent residency under the Extraordinary Ability classification, and in 2025 he became a U.S. citizen.

Throughout his career, García Mayor has advised and collaborated with the United Nations, the Inter-American Development Bank, governments, universities, NGOs, and international organizations. He has also contributed to humanitarian research and needs assessments involving institutions such as Médecins Sans Frontières, Argentina’s National Scientific and Technical Research Council, the Masdar Institute in Abu Dhabi, the Salzburg Global Seminar, and other international initiatives.

He has delivered TEDx talks and keynote presentations around the world and has participated in global innovation and industrial design forums alongside leaders from companies including BMW, Audi, Bentley, Renault, Volvo, Coca-Cola, Google, and Facebook. He has also served as an honorary jury member for Argentina’s Balseiro Institute and National Atomic Energy Commission.

In 2026, García Mayor introduced Cmax Air, a new generation of lightweight, rapidly deployable inflatable habitat technologies created for adventure, disaster preparedness, and emergency response. The product line includes the AeroCabin™, an innovative portable cabin that can be used on land, transported in a pickup truck, and deployed on water as a floating emergency refuge. Developed in response to the increasing impact of floods and extreme weather, the AeroCabin combines mobility, protection, and humanitarian design in a single solution.

That same year, García Mayor received the inaugural INNOVAMOS Distinction, “Argentine Talent for Humanity,” honoring his career in humanitarian innovation and his ability to transform Argentine talent into solutions that protect and improve lives around the world.

Today, his work continues to connect design, technology, and humanitarian action—transforming ideas into practical solutions for communities facing some of the world’s most complex challenges.
